I know that it’s hard to decipher who actually lends money online and who doesn’t. There are probably 50 sites that sell your info for a loan for every one that is an actual payday loan lender. If I had enough cash to let you borrow some, I certainly would. Unfortunately, I’ve been in the same situation that you’re currently in and trying to figure out who I should trust when getting same day cash online.

To learn more about what it takes to get approved for an advance, as well as some things that lenders don’t normally share with you, check out our post How To Qualify For A Cash Advance, then come back here and check out the list of lenders.

Quick List Of Lenders

If you don’t have the time (or patience) to wade through this very long post, here is a quick list.  Clicking on any of these links goes to a short review that I wrote of each lender, along with the states that they lend in, and links to their site.  The banner at the top or the text link at the bottom will take you to their site.

If this page is a little too messy for you, please check out our list of cash advance lenders by state.  Just scroll down to the state that you live in and you’ll see who’s licensed to lend in your state. Also, if you’re looking for more time to make payments on your loan, check out this site that has a list of installment lenders.

*Updated 8/27/10* – It looks like Think Cash is halting their lending operations for a while.  DO NOT apply for a loan with them, it won’t go anywhere!

*Updated 4/1/11* – Updated with coupon offers for CashNet, Quickquid, and Dollars Direct.  Use the code CJCASH on the application to get 20% off of your application fees!  Offer is good until 4/30/10.  If you live in any of the states that CashNet lends in, apply with them, this is a great deal!

*Updated 4/13/11* – Removed Florida from the states Payday One lends in.  Thanks to commenter Valerie for the tip!

*Updated 7/1/11* – Added Ace Cash Express, removed Speedy Cash.

*Updated 12/28/12* – Removed Payday One and fixed Discount Advances and Payday Max copy

Since I don’t actually lend any money I figured that it would be a good idea to put together a list full of legit cash advance lenders.  Where available, I listed all of the states that each company lends money in.  A quick way to figure out who lends in your state is to push ctrl+f on your keyboard to bring up the search function, then type in the full name of your state (California, not CA).  From the find box you can click ‘next’ to go through all of the lenders that work where you live.

We have info on US, Canadian, and UK cash advance lenders. Scroll down to find the right ones for your country.

Updated again 8/26/2010 to add Cash Central, correct the states for Cash One, made all of the state names bold for easier reference, and get rid of all of the ones that were not direct lenders. This list is now completely comprised of legit cash advance lenders, none of the ones that shop your info around.

Legit Cash Advance Lenders In The US

CashNet USA

CashNet is another old and trusted direct cash lender. They are much more helpful throughout the borrowing process than most lenders, and will have someone there to be able to answer any questions that you might have. This is extraordinarily useful if you’ve never borrowed a cash advance before!

They work in just about every state, but not all work in the same way. In a bunch of states they offer cash advances, some states will be only installment loans (like Think Cash), and others they offer the regular credit check loans. In other states they offer a loan matching service that pairs you up with lenders that work in those states. Check out all of the direct lenders in your state before going with a loan matching service.

Until the end of September, using the promo code CJCASH gets you 20% off of your application fees with CashNet!

The breakdown of these states are as follows-

Cash advances from West Coast to East – Washington, Oregon, California, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Missouri, Louisiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Maine, Rhode Island.

Installment Loans – New Mexico, Illinois, South Carolina.

Loan Matching Service - Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, New York, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey.

Payday Max

Payday Max is another legit cash advance lender. As you read through all of the different lenders here, you’ll realize that they’re pretty much all the same, but Payday Max has one glaring difference – they lend in almost every state! They also offer a much more balanced rate structure than other lenders, which may save you money. You’re also going to have the option of a 30 day cash advance.

Payday Max is not a no fax lender. You’re going to have to fax over a bank statement and a voided check. I guess they figure that if you have to fax over your paperwork, the least they can do is give you 50% off!

They lend money in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California (except in Sacramento), Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

Ace Cash Express

Ace Cash Express is a well known lender that runs a lot of physical stores. When I lived in Arizona, these guys were some of the most common lenders that you would see. Unfortunately, they don’t lend in Arizona, or a lot of other states for that matter, but if you do live somewhere that they offer a loan they are a reputable choice.

One thing that sets ACE apart from many of the other lenders is that they have no problem working with people that have savings accounts, but no checking account. This is a big deal since most lenders won’t do this.

They don’t require direct deposit, and like most lenders they won’t lend to you if you’re in bankruptcy.

The states that ACE operates in are:Alabama, Delaware, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, and Texas.

DiscountAdvances.com

I may be wrong, but I have a feeling that DiscountAdvances.com and Payday Max are a part of the same company. They have very similar fee structures and operate in almost the exact same places.

The biggest thing that separates them is that DiscountAdvances.com says that they are a no fax cash advance lender. I really hope they are because faxing stuff is a major pain in the ass!

They lend money in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California (except in Sacramento), Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

Cash Central

Cash Central is another of the ‘old school’ online cash advance lenders. What sets them apart from the pack is that they pride themselves on playing everything by the book. If you aren’t sure about whether or not cash advances are legit, Cash Central is for you. They really go out of their way to show you that they are licensed to lend in each state that they operate in, and they provide all sorts of help on how to build a budget for yourself and manage your money better. Another cool thing that they do is show you in depth charts of what your rates are going to be like by state and amount borrowed.

Cash Central operates in Alabama, Alaska, California, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Canadian Cash Advance Lenders

Dollars Direct

Dollars Direct is the Canadian version of Cash Net. I’m fairly certain that they’re the same company. They are a direct lender, which means that they’re the ones that give you the money. Dollars Direct currently operates in Alberta, British Colombia, and Ontario. Their website is actually pretty helpful, and gives you a break down of rates based on where you live, as well as how much time you have to repay it.  Use the code CJCASH on your application to get 20% off of your application fee!  Offer is good until 9/30/10.

UK Cash Advance Lenders

PaydayUK

PaydayUK - Borrow £80 - £750 today

Since we operate in the US it’s hard for us to have any direct experience with UK same day cash lenders. What we were able to do is talk to people and read reviews of companies and the only one that we’re comfortable recommending is PaydayUK. They’ve been around for a long time, have helped thousands of people throughout the UK, and still get great reviews for their customer service and loan terms.  Use the code CJCASH on your application to get 20% off of your application fee!  Offer is good until 9/30/10.

Apply for a loan at PaydayUK.

Payday Bank

Payday Bank is a relative newcomer to UK cash advances, but they have made a name for themselves as one of the best online cash lenders around. They are a direct lender, so you apply with them and they give you the money. They do, however, require that you are over 18, and have a minimum monthly income of 750 GBP. Other than those requirements, it’s pretty easy to get a loan. They don’t check your credit history either. Click on that little icon to the left to visit their website.

These certainly aren’t the only options out there, but they are the only ones that we’re comfortable recommending. They’ve maintained good business practices for years and have an extremely low rate of screwing people over!
